my wife doesn't get her hair cut often, it's long and blonde and unlike most women who live in beauty salons, my wife gets it cut maybe 2-3 times a year. when we were married, she had it cut to about an inch above her shoulder and i loved it. it looked so neat and sexy. now she has let it grow and before her haircut her hair would have covered her breasts.

She probably had 2-3 inches cut off.

I came home and our granddaughter was crying, she was working to set the table and i immediately came in to help and then we set down, had our prayer and began to eat. i complimented her on the potatoes and fish and one of our daughters said, you didn't tell mom you liked her hair.

the salon she went to and her friend, never styles her hair. in fact, this time, they didn't even dry it and quite honestly her hair didn't look to me at first any shorter.

The stylist cut it in different lengths and honestly it looks crappy. she's mad now because i didn't compliment her right away. HELP!

I have dyed my hair red, blonde, and brunette, on my own and my husband doesn't notice. I don't think men pay as much attention to those kinds of things the way women do. Besides, getting a couple of inches cut isn't that big of a change.

That is childish and infantile. There is more to life than noticing a haircut. Dont get hung up with trivial things and if it really meant that much, just say "Sorry, I didnt notice" . Dont promise to do better. You wont. The next time she has a haircut, you wont notice either unless she is bald.

see my wife just did her hair, but i notice it, when i went to say something about it when i first seen her, we started talking about something else, and we changed te subject again. finally i said, i like your hair. she said now you notice, i closed my eyes and said, i been notice, i described her hair to hair with my eyes close to show that i did notice the lenght, the curls, and everything else. just go and tell you wife that you did not notice because it was went, the baby was crying, i was helping you with the table, and i was really hungry. i know you do not like it, so let her know. so she doesnt do it that way again. bd

Okay well you need to say honestly I didn't even really notice you made that much of a change to it. Do you like it? Why didn't she style it? I am sorry I did not say something sooner but I was trying to help our granddaughter and my mind got side tracked. Just be honest with her.

When my fiancee did not like something that I did to my hair, he kind of looked at me funny because it was something that I would not normally do and I said you don't like it do you? He said that it is just different but if you like it then that is all that matters and by the end of the night he got use to it and liked it. The point of my story is just be honest with her.

You know my friends have complained to me about things like this and I can never work out why women waste energy on unimportant things. I mean really, she has long hair and it's still long - plus it wasn't styled. I get my hair done to make me feel good and I don't care if my husband notices or not. You sound like you do everything you can to not upset her - rushing in to help st the table, complimenting her on her cooking. You don't have to know what she's thinking all the time and you shouldn't have to worry about the right or wrong thing to do - compliments and helping should come naturally. It sounds like what you did that evening was really lovely and shows what a nice guy you are - many women don't have that :)

It's wonderful you care, but it's OK to tell your wife that you don't think this is worth fighting over when you love each other so much. If you want to get out of the hole then say something like "When I look at you I see the woman I met x years ago, you are the love of my life and I didn't notice your change in haircut because I was taking in the whole of you" :)

Explain to her the situation, sounds like you had things going on. PLEASE dont use the word crappy, or reference anything about Britney Spears latest haircut, but tell her the truth. Tell her you prefer her hair in another way, give her a suggestion. That way you dont have to actually say you dont like it, and she will hopefully appreciate the fact that you have an interest in how she looks. You can kind of kill two birds with one stone.

There is no marital obligation to compliment your wife's hair. If she wants your opinion, she can ask for it: "Honey, I got my hair done today. Do you like it?" at which point you can say yes or no, depending. BE HONEST. If she can't take it, that's her problem!
