Question for hair stylists...?

I got my hair permed today and it's absolutely awful. The last 6 inches of my hair are perfectly straight and some of the ends are really coarse. My hair is to the middle of my back and I really didn't want to have to get it cut because of the perm!

Before the hairdresser started, he said that taking prenatal vitamins might make some of the hair not "take" the perm. I've never heard this before and couldn't find anything online, except that he might have had the chemicals on too long. Our youngest daughter is 4 months old and I take the vitamins because she is still nursing, but I really don't think that is the cause, especially since the top part of the hair looks so pretty.

I just don't understand... the top of the hair is beautiful spiral curls and the ends are straight. I even wet it and scrunched it to see if that would help... nope. This was not a strip-mall $50 perm that I got!!!!!

Any insight would be ever-so-much appreciated!!!!!!!

Question for hair stylists...?

I have been doing hair for fifteen years and I have never heard of prenatal vitamins causing a perm not to take. From the description that you are giving it sounds to me like your stylist didn't saturate the hair all the way to the ends which is sometimes a problem when a client has alot of hair. The hairstylist should either give you a full refund or give you another perm at no charge. The stylist can even perm just the ends of the hair if they aren't comfortable redoing the entire head. But this is definately the stylist fault and if the stylist is unwilling to do one of the above things for you then I recommend that you change stylists.

Hope this helped

Question for hair stylists...?

Any medication/vitamins you take can make your perms not take as well. I would guess the reason your ends didn't take as well, is the longest part of your hair has the most damage/chemicals/medicine in it. If you didn't sign some type of waiver then I would ask for your money back. I am hesitant to tell you to get the ends re permed, b/c of the damage it could cause. I would go to a well respected salon/stylist and see what they recommend. If the place you went is a respected salon, then I would go back to the stylist you saw and demand he/she fix it.

Question for hair stylists...?

Take my advice only think you have to do is condition your hair and keep on greasing you scalp soon all or later your hair will be so long it will be past your butt. Trust me take my advice. You should grease it twice a day.
